KEL 277 A group of people sit around a table drinking bottles of Coca-Cola at a Walther League Convention held at the Memorial Lutheran Church. The theme of the convention was "Pioneers for Christ." The room is decorated to look like a saloon, using empty bottles on top of a cabinet and fishing nets draped from the walls. A piano is against the wall, and a girl in a cowboy hat is playing it. KEL 276 In the top image, Susan Thompson packs a suitcase of clothes in preparation for going away to college. Miss Thompson is a sophomore at Willamette University, Salem, Oregon. KEL 275 In the top image, Carolyn Vipperman puts the finishing touches on a new hairdo for Connie Covington before she leaves for the University of Utah at Margo's Beauty Salon. In the bottom image, Anne Alworth serves coffee to Sue Wylie, center, and Judy Peterson, right, as they discuss the numerous campus activities scheduled for the year at various universities. Miss Alworth and Miss Wylie are juniors at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington, and Miss Peterson is an English major at Idaho State University. Miss Alworth is majoring in German and Miss Wylie's major is education. The girls are seated on a couch, and a table in front of the couch has a coffee mug and a centerpiece of fruit. KEL 274 A large crane removes the cross from the top of St. Edward's Catholic Church after the church custodian, George Miller, discovered the base of the cross was coming apart and
the cross was loose. A man in a hard hat stands on top of the roof next to the cross, helping with the removal. The side of the crane reads "Northwest Crane & Rigging and Transport Austin Western." An arch on the building of St. Edward's Catholic Church reads "This is no other but the house of God and the gate of Heaven Genesis XXVIII 17." The two bell towers are visible to the sides of the roof with the cross.

KEL 270 Linda Wilson and Fredrick Coggburn had the opportunity of making extensive tours of the Southwest and Great Britain, sponsored by the special activities program of the Civil Air Patrol. Both are seniors at Twin Falls High School. They are dressed in their CAP uniforms. Linda Wilson is wearing tags that read "Cadet Civil Air Patrol" and "Wilson." Fredrick Coggburn is wearing a jacket that has "United States Civil Air Patrol" embroidered on it.

KEL 266 A man in a plaid shirt and sunglasses sits on top of a four-row corn picker that is used by the Green Giant Company in Buhl. The new corn picker is designed for 30-inch corn rows. Joe P. Fehrenbacher, agricultural superintendent of the company, said that 30-inch corn rows are being tried experimentally by the company in the hopes of gaining increased water utilization.
